Families often feel trapped between fear of delay and fear of overtreatment. My role is to translate complex information into a practical judgment: what can be observed, what needs further testing, and when the benefit of surgery outweighs the risk.

Humanitarian and disaster medicine
Humanitarian missions in South Sudan and Ukraine involved surgical emergencies under limited diagnostics, blood products, operating resources and evacuation options. Field experience is incorporated into teaching, writing and public education.
